The Artist I Am
I have an extreme obsession with color and flow in my art. Being an artist from Long Island, New York I’ve always been surrounded by the salt water and sky. The beauty where the land meets the ocean and the infinite space above is truly inspiring. Usually painting with no set composition in mind my art will form itself into a celestial flow of vibrant color.
When looking at my paintings I see the brush strokes of color flow together and intertwine evoking both darkness and light. Sometimes otherworldly or dreamlike landscapes appear oftentimes with a feminine figure immersed in it all. I feel in my work my inner-being is personified into something more tangible, a woman and/or place both derived and caught in the cascading stardust.
I graduated from Stony Brook University with a bachelors degree in Studio Art back in 2012. Forever ago at this point, my graduation date was set for December 21st, the day the world was predicted to end. The world did not end and has since left me to develop this strong connection with The Universe and the world in which we live. Life around us speaks to me. Nature helps me breathe. I hardly write my experiences down but I paint them and in other works photograph them. You and I are one itself. We and everything are connected alongside the Sun, the Moon and the Stars.
